A few clients have asked me about getting new Family Portraits among the beautiful fall colors. I thought of my “go to” spots and took a drive this afternoon, and captured some quick snapshots with a pocket point and shoot.
Most of the well-known spots in the Bay have, unfortunately, passed the peak of the colors. My favorite spot, Wild Horse Canyon, is still a great hike, but the time is just a little past for photo opportunities at Indian Falls:
I drove through the camping areas down by the Marina. It's gorgeous for camping, but again, the colors are somewhat muted. The best shots in the campground would be along the shore line with Sugarloaf in the background, in the late afternoon.
The best spot to find nice colors, and have other features to include in your photos, is currently the area around Indian Hills. There are some great spots to capture the colors, as well as include some of Fairfield Bay's landmarks. Indian Rock Cave is always great, and the area around the golf course near the pond is really gorgeous. Here's the snaps!
Please note: These are very quick snapshots, using a pocket camera, with no edits. These do not represent the quality of commissioned photographs from Fairfield Bay Photography.
