The River Road is gorgeous this time of year. With the rain, everything is very green. But, watch out for the hordes of mosquitoes, and there are ticks everywhere! Plus, the entrance closest to Fairfield Bay is locked up. I'm guessing the river is too high on that end.
I also walked the Shirley trail today. I didn't get any really nice shots. The sun was directly overhead, casting very flat, harsh shadows with areas of very bright, dappled light coming in through the trees. I don't recommend walking the trail this time of year. The bugs are horrible! Mosquito swarms so thick they get into your mouth, and spiders hanging webs all across the trail. Not a ton of fun! I also saw a number of ticks, but they were all on the ground, not hanging on leaves and twigs. I was liberally doused with Cutter, with Repel on my shoes and socks, and didn't get a single bite!
